PEMBELAJARAN “PAKEM” BAHASA INGGRIS DENGAN METODE APLIKASI STRATEGI “DALIA”

Abstract


Pembelajaran Aktif Kreatif Efektif dan Menyenangkan / PAKEM or Active, Creative, Effective, and Joyful Learning is an alternative model of teaching English in Indonesia. However, implementing this model in teaching English is not easy because English is used as a medium of communication. As matter of a fact, in learning a language students have to deal with four skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Practices are required in order to get success. There are five strategies applied in the teaching and learning process proposed in this paper. They are Direct Practice, Authentic Material, Learning Community, Inquiry, and Authentic Assessment (DALIA). Some benefits can be taken from those strategies because they relate the materials in class with daily activities. Finally, PAKEM in teaching and learning English by using DALIA strategies can meet the basic competency of the curriculum.
