This study aims at investigating the biology practicum management at the Laboratory of Biology FKIP-UMM. 110 semesters II, IV, and VI students at the academic year 2008/2009 are taken as the samples employing accidental sampling technique. Questionnaire is used to gather the data before they are analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. To complete and clarify the data, the head of the department of Biology and the head of Biology laboratory are interviewed. It is found that there are some weaknesses related to the management based on the student expectations. They include the facilities and practicum management model. This condintions bring the effects on the student’s attitute and create the problems to the laboratory assistants. The students are lazy to take practicum materials, consult the practicum result to the laboratory assistant, and hand in the paper promptly. Besides, the students like to underestimate the laboratory assistants because they consider the laboratory assistants do not have enough knowledge related to the material for practicum. The students rarely get satisfied information from the laboratory assistant related

to the practicum material that they have never got in class.
