Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif; Teori Yang Mendasar dan Prakteknya Dalam Pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar & Sekolah Lanjutan

Abstract


In general, mathematics and science learning in schools is still conventional. Teacher-centered learning result in students is less active, therefore we need to be shifted in such a way that it becomes more centered on students. Cooperative learning is group work is managed and organized so that students work together in small groups to achieve effective academic goals and social. Cooperative learning model appears to be an answer to that question. This study aims to determine: 1) what are the theories that support the model of cooperative learning; and 2) why does cooperative learning model needs to be applied. Based on the discourse analysis, it can be concluded that the basic theories wich become the cooperative learning model are: 1) psychology cognitive-constructivist theory of Piaget and Vygotsky; and 2) Dewey's Theory of Social Psychology, Thelan, Allport, and Lewin. From the various considerations and empirical evidence shows that cooperative learning model needs to be applied in teaching and learning in schools at various levels and various fields of study, including mathematics and sciences. This kind of learning model has some benefits when compared with conventional learning, including a) the attainment of higher academic learning outcomes, b) is more conducive to improving inter-relationships (friendships), c) are more psychologically healthy, increase your confidence and social skills.
