Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan jenis kekerasan genderdi kencan mahasiswa, penyebab menyalahgunakan, dan solusi yang informan lakukan. Untuk mengumpulkan data, peneliti telah menentukan peserta yang dapat membantu penelitian dan biasa disebut pewawancara sekunder. Pewawancara sekunder dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa.
