ANALISIS UNDERCHIEVER PADA SISWA AKSELERASI

Perlunya pelayanan pendidikan khusus bagi anak cerdas istimewa dan bakat istimewa merupakan upaya agar siswa berkembang sesuai dengan potensi yang dimilikinya. Dari beberapa penelitian yang dilakukan, banyak ditemukan siswa akselerasi dan memiliki bakat intelektual tinggi mengalami penurunan prestasi belajar. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis faktor penyebab underachiever pada siswa akselerasi dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu mendiskripsikan data-data yang ada. Subjek penelitian berjumlah empat orang yang dipilih dengan kriteria tertentu dengan menggunakan metode pengumpulan data berupa wawancara semi terstrukstur dan observasi non partisipan. Untuk menguji keabsahan data digunakan teknik triangulasi sumber. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang menyebabkan underachiever pada siswa akselerasi berasal dari faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor internal meliputi motivasi subjek memasuki kelas akselerasi bukan karena prestasi melainkan karena tujuan tertentu, adanya self efficacy yang rendah pada diri subjek terutama pada pelajaran matematika, kesulitan membagi waktu, dan motivasi belajar yang rendah. Sedangkan untuk faktor eksternal meliputi adanya permasalahan yang terjadi dalam keluarga, guru dalam pola ajar yang masih monoton, bahkan cara mengajarnya tidak jauh berbeda dengan anak pada umumnya.

The need for special education services for children and special talents smart special is an attempt to enable students to develop according to its potential. Of the few studies conducted, many students found to have a knack acceleration and high intellectual achievement decreased. The research objective was to analyze the factors causing acceleration underachiever on students using a qualitative approach, which is to describe the existing data. Subjects numbered four people selected by specific criteria using the method of data collection in the form of semi terstrukstur and non-participant observation. To test the validity of the data sources used triangulation techniques. Based on the results of the study, suggesting that the factors leading to students underachiever acceleration comes from internal and external factors. Internal factors include the motivation of the subject into accelerated classes not because of performance but because of the specific purpose, the low self-efficacy on the subject, especially in math, difficult to share time, and low motivation. As for the external factors include the existence of problems that occur in the family, teachers in the teaching pattern is monotone, even a way of teaching is not much different than children in general.
