SELF-CONTROL REMAJA YANG MENGIKUTI KARATE DENGAN YANG TIDAK MENGIKUTI KARATE

Seorang remaja memiliki tugas perkembangan yang harus dikuasai, salah satunya adalah mempelajari apa yang diharapkan oleh kelompok darinya dan kemudian mau membentuk perilakunya agar sesuai dengan harapan sosial. Olahraga karate tidak hanya mengajarkan pukulan ataupun tangkisan, tetapi juga mengajarkan untuk dapat mengontrol diri, dapat menerima diri sendiri dan orang lain dengan apa adanya, harus dapat mempertinggi prestasi-prestasi yang sudah ada, mampu bertanggung jawabkan apa yang sudah dilakukannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan self-control (yang diukur dengan self-control scale Goldfried) antara remaja yang mengikuti karate dengan yang tidak mengikuti karate. Pengukuran ini dilakukan pada 300 sampel yang terdiri dari 150 remaja karate dan 150 remaja yang tidak karate dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil dari analisis data, diperoleh nilai t sebesar 11.647 dengan nilai signifikan (p) sebesar 0,000 < 0,01. Maka hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan kontrol diri yang sangat signifikan (p= 0,000 < 0,01) yang dapat ditinjau dari aktivitas remaja, dimana remaja yang mengikuti karate memiliki kontrol diri yang lebih baik dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 162.06 dibandingkan dengan remaja yang tidak mengikuti karate dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 143.17.

An adolescent has a developed task that able, should be mastered by adolescent is learning what group expects to her or him and then he/she want to figure her/his behavior so that it is suitable with social expect. Karate sport can’t teach strike or resistance, But also teach to get self control, can be accepted self and another person with usual, must be get high achievement , be able responsibility has to do it. The aim of research is to find out the different self control (measured by self-control scale Goldfried) between adolescent joining the karate or not. The measurement of this present study was done with 300 sample consists of 150 karate adolescent, and 150 un-karate adolescent by using purposive sampling technique. Therefore, the result of the data analysis can be obtained ttest = 11.647 with significant score (p) = 0,000 < 0,01. It can be concluded that there was significance self-control (p= 0,000 < 0,01) that can be seen from adolescent activity, where adolescent karate have well-self control with average 162.06 rather than un-karate adolescent with average 143.17.
