Both academic and other adjustments, culture shock, communication difficulties can cause stress and anxiety. This also happens to first-year students who are in the stage of emerging adulthood where students will experience transitions that cause change and stress. Among the factors believed to impact academic stress levels are peer social support and resilience. The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between peer social support, resilience, and academic stress among first-year students from regional areas. The research sample consisted of 395 first-year undergraduate students (S1) from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang who originated from areas outside Greater Malang. Accidental sampling was employed as the sampling technique. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling. The research design used was correlational with spearman correlation analysis techniques and multiple correlations using SPSS 24. The results showed that the value of sig. F change of 0,142 > 0,05 means that there is no simultaneous or shared relationship between peer social support and resilience with academic stress. The implication of this study suggests that first-year regional students should actively maintain peer social support through frequent communication and engagement in campus activities to alleviate academic stress.
2024-03-29T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Alya Dwi Anggraeni, Diana Savitri Hidayati https://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/cognicia/article/view/30456 Hubungan kepercayaan diri dengan kecemasan sosial pada remaja 2024-01-30T15:14:57+07:00 Nadya Rizky Salsabila Wardhana nadyarizky001@gmail.com Hudaniah Hudaniah@umm.ac.id Sakinah Nur Rokhmah sakinah@umm.ac.id
Navigating complex social situations can be challenging for adolescents who lead an active social life, potentially leading to social anxiety. Emotional competence is the condition of an individual who is able to recognize, express, understand, regulate and use the emotions they feel. There are many ways to improve the emotional competence of teenagers with divorced parents, one of which is using the psychodrama method. Psychodrama is a way of expressing what is felt about the pressure or stress that is being experienced or method often called catharsis. The research aims to determine the use of intervention in the form of psychodrama in an effort to increase emotional competence in adolescents with divorced parents. This research uses an experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used was the Profile of Emotional Competence (PEC). There were 10 research subjects determined using a purposive sampling method who were then divided into experimental and control groups according to low to medium PEC scores. The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed that there was a significant difference in the experimental group (p= 0,043) and there was no significant difference in the control group (p= 0,069). Based on these results, it indicates that psychodrama has a significant influence in efforts to increase emotional competence in adolescents with divorced parents.
2024-03-29T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Ratmilia Cahyani, Siti Suminarti Fasikhah https://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/cognicia/article/view/30469 Peran adverse childhood experience terhadap kecemasan sosial pada remaja 2024-01-10T13:38:08+07:00 Rayssa Giovan Azaria rayssagiovan64@gmail.com Nandy Agustin Syakarofath nandysyakarofath@umm.ac.id
Social anxiety phenomena can occur easily because each individual has a tendency to experience social anxieties with their individual's different levels of anguish. In this era, there are many demands that make mothers carry out a dual role, a housewife and a working mother. Therefore, the multiple roles chosen by the mother will cause burnout and have an impact for childcare. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of social support and parenting self-efficacy on parental burnout in working mothers. This research uses a quantitative approach and a non-experimental quantitative research design with a causal relationship. The study encompassed a cohort of one hundred and twelve (112) employed mothers within governmental or private organizations, chosen through the application of accidental sampling methodology. When presenting themselves on the internet, individuals must have the ability to create a good impression virtually. A survey conducted by the Mental Health Foundation shows that people aged 18 to 34 experience loneliness more often because the expected need for intimacy from close people is not met, a gap is created between expectations and the reality of formed social relationships, and a lack of satisfaction from social relationships which exists. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of loneliness on online self-presentation in early adult Instagram users. The research method used was quantitative with single regression analysis, and to distribute the research sample using convenience sampling techniques to obtain 162 respondents who had the criteria of being 18-27 years old, actively using Instagram. The instrument used refers to the theory of loneliness and online self-presentation, and produces a significance value of 0,001 (p<0,05) which can be explained if the hypothesis that there is an influence of loneliness on online self-presentation is accepted with an effective contribution of 7,9%.
2024-03-29T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Rahardian Puji Assyfikqi, Susanti Prasetyaningrum, Udi Rosida Hijrianti
