ABSTRACT

The purpose of the research study and produce research outputs in the form of the formulation of concepts, theories and studies etnopedagogi citizenship education as a vehicle of culture and national character education in universities of Muhammadiyah Malang. Research outputs in the form of concepts, theories and studies etnopedagogi is scientific capital to enrich science (body of knowledge) Civics existence as part of MKPK in college, which will strengthen the four pillars of nationhood and support the achievement of the grand design of character education in college synergistically and sustainable.
The study was conducted with a qualitative approach combined with a simple tatif kuanti-. Population / location of this study were college Muhammadiyah in Malang. The research sample set purposively sampling at UMM. Informants of this study is MKU Chairman / MPK, Lecturer Civics and students who took the Mk. Civics in the PTM. Data collection was done by using direct observation, focus group discussions (FGDs), in-depth interviews (indept interview), as well as participation involved. Data analysis was performed by mixing method.
The results of the study and analysis of the data showed that: (1) Knowledge, attitudes and behavior of faculty, student and chairman of the department of teaching Civics / CE in PTM environments that exist today tend showed diverse phenomena. (2) The cause of learning lecture Civics / CE that occurred during this lasted less democratic, boring and not optimal, because the dominant factor 10. (3) There are several important reasons, underlying the need for innovation and research efforts ethno-learning pedagogy PKN / CE as a vehicle for cultural education and the character of the nation that can develop multicultural citizenship competencies of students in the college environment Muhammadiyah. (4) Draft Formulation studies etnopedagogi Learning Civics education as a vehicle of culture and national character desired stakeholders in accordance with the spirit and the democratization of learning include: (1) Orientation Model (the rationale and development of the model) and (2) Component Model (syntak learning).
