ABSTRACT

In History, Warok has important role in the Ponorogo. Both the roles of cultural, social and even political. The role of politics in particular began to be seen in the lead-birth Ponorogo as the political authority. Political role in recorded history Warok continued Roxburgh. This is evident from the various references that have been recorded by the observer of culture Ponorogo. Future political role of colonialism, after independence, the old order, the new order even order reform. History Warok as though the political elite continues to take on the role, but the dynamics have not been many who do documention. Especially Warok role in this local politics. So this research seeks to explore, describe and analyze further the role Warok in several phases of community life Roxburgh. This study is a qualitative research with the hope to do more in-depth research and freely explore the data research. Instead of this study is limited by quantitative rules that have specific ristrictions for exploration and analysis of data. The purpose of this study include: First, to determine the factors of history and philosophy of art Cultural Studies Warok reog and political figure in Ponorogo, Second, to know the process of metamorphosis Warok role of the cultural elite to the political elite, third, to know good Warok political role in the context of the past and in the present era.

ABSTRAK

Warok khususnya dalam sejarah Ponorogo telah memainkan peran pentingnya. Baik dalam peran-peran budaya, sosial bahkan politik. Peran politik khususnya mulai terlihat pada masa menjelang lahirnya Ponorogo sebagai otoritas politik. Peran politik warok terus tercatat dalam sejarah Ponorogo. Hal ini terlihat dari berbagai referensi yang telah dibukukan oleh para pemerhati budaya Ponorogo. Peran politik dimasa kolonialisme, pascara kemerdekaan, masa orde lama, orde baru bahkan orde reformasi. Sejarah warok sebagai elit politik meski terus mengambil peran, namun dinamikanya belum banyak yang melakukan pendokumentasiaannya. Terutama peran warok dalam perpolitikan lokal kontemporer saat ini.Olehkarena itu penelitian ini berupaya menggali, mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis lebih jauh peran warok dalam beberapa fase kehidupan masyarakat Ponorogo. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan harapan penelitian dapat dilakukan lebih mendalam dan leluasa mengeksplorasi data penelitiannya. Bukan penelitian yang dibatasi oleh ini kaidah-kaidah kuantitaif yang memiliki ristriksi-ristriksi tertentu untuk melakukan eksplorasi dan analisis data. Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain : Pertama, untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor kesejarahan dan filosofi seni buday reog dan sosok warok dalam politik di Ponorogo, Kedua, untuk mengetahui proses metamorfosa peran warok dari elit budaya ke elit politik, ketiga, untuk mengetahui peran politik warok baik dalam konteks masa lalu maupun dalam era kekinian.
