MODEL PENGEMBANGAN LINGKUNGAN KOTA EKOWISATA (STUDI DI WILAYAH KOTA BATU)

Abstract

This research is conducted to explore on why and how the government implements the model
of the Batu city development as a ecotourism city. The qualitative approach is utilized in this study
with Descriptive-Qualitative implemented in data analysis technique. Whereas the quantitative data
is also useful to strengthen the qualitative findings. Indeepth interview, Observation and
documentation, were used as data collection tools. The respondents of this study were determined
purposively that include: The local leaders, and Residents. While the informants include: the chief
of tourism department of Batu city, ecotourism analyst both from local community and higher
education, and NGO-enviroment preservation.
The conclusion of research study ares: (1) Batu city have good potentials resources as a capital
for city developmental; (2) Batu city as refreshing area, so it is possible to be ecotourism city; (3)
The community of Batu city are supporting for Batu city developing, as a ecotourism city; (4) The
orientation of Batu city development is based on mission and vision of Batu city, as: “Batu as
agropolitan city, base on Tourism and Civil Society”; and (5) The orientation of Batu city development
is using of the Rurban Oriented Paradigm (ROP)
