KONSEP PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI PENGEMBANGAN KOMUNITAS BERBASIS POTENSI LOKAL (STUDI DI DESA WISATA BUNGA SIDOMULYO, KOTA BATU-JAWA TIMUR)

Abstract

The purpose of this research is for analysis about how and why the concept of community
empowerment base on environment and social local capital. This research use the qualitative approach.
The data technique analysisi use qualitative-descriptive dat analysis technique. Sidomulyo and Punten
village, Batu City is the research location who taken by purposive approach. Data collecting technique
including are: indeept interview, observation, and documentation.
The findings of this research can be described bellows: (1) Both geographical characteristics
and social characteristics of two villages mentioned above fully support involved actively in the
development of ecotourism industry; (3) Majority of the population agreed and fully supported the
development of ecotourism industry in those two villages; (4) Traditions, values, and norms of both
villages society accord and supported the environment management and preservation; (5) The local
government policies on the ecotourism industry have been considered to give mutual harmony for
both the community and environment. Accordingly, the implemented concept should, therefore be
maintained and developed.
