Lliterature research was performed on the primary data sourced from Arabic textbooks and secondary data from relevant books and journal articles. The data then underwent content analysis and descriptive analysis through several steps: data collection, data filtering, and selection and qualitative data interpretation. The results showed that although the assessment instruments in the Arabic textbook for 8th grade in 2020 covered the aspects of PISA, most of the instruments were at lower levels, such as three instruments at level 1b, two instruments at level 2, three instruments at level 3, and one instrument at level 4. Based on the results of the analysis, instrument innovation was carried out with PISA standards at levels 4-6, consisting of five level 4 instruments, five level 5 instruments, and one level 6 instrument. These innovations included analysis and interpretation, critical evaluation and reflection, and high-level analysis and synthesis for better comprehension and function in Arabic reading competence assessment</p> Iis Dahlia, R. The learning steps in this research include planning material, creating Powtoon content, making presentations and delivery, providing interactive exercises, repetition and memorization, evaluating learning, reflecting, and closing. A quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design and purposive sampling was used. The subjects included eighth-grade students from class VIII A as the experimental group and class VIII B as the control group. A validated multiple-choice test measured syntactic ability before and after the treatment. Data analysis using SPSS version 25 revealed a significance level of .000, indicating significant differences between the groups. The experimental group showed a greater improvement, achieving an N-Gain percentage of 77.40%, while the control group achieved 61.38%. These results indicated that the Powtoon-assisted mnemonic method effectively enhanced students' learning outcomes in syntactic mastery, whereas the mnemonic method alone was moderately effective. By combining visual animations and mnemonic elements, Jurumiyah learning becomes more interesting and easier for students to understand.</p> Muhammad Kafahulloh, Mohamad Zaka Al Farisi, Ali Abd al-Rubb Radman Taha Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Kafahulloh, Mohamad Zaka Al Farisi, Ali Abd al-Rubb Radman Taha https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/izdihar/article/view/35784 Tue, 31 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Takallam: An Android Application to Enhance Literacy of Arabic Expression https://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/izdihar/article/view/34762 <p>The Arabic language holds great significance in Islamic culture. Arabic is traditionally learned through in-person instruction in classrooms or scientific gatherings, while another method involves memorizing words from books or dictionaries. However, this memorization technique is often less effective due to the repetitive reading required. An alternative approach to learning Arabic is through information system media. In this research, the researchers developed a multimedia application to facilitate learning basic Arabic conversations. The research follows the Prototyping methodology, which involves building and refining a system model. This process includes seven steps: collecting requirements, developing prototypes, evaluating prototypes, coding, testing, system evaluation, and implementation. The Android-based mobile application, developed using Android Studio, incorporates multimedia features. The outcome of this research is the development of the Takallam app, designed to help users learn basic Arabic conversation. Takallam includes interactive dialogues, practical phrases, and engaging quizzes, with cartoon animations to enhance the learning experience and make practice more enjoyable. The System Usability Scale test yielded an average score of 74, and Beta Testing showed an 80% feasibility rate, confirming that the application meets the required criteria.</p> Ummi Azizah Rachmawati, Aya Yahya, Puspa Setia Pratiwi, Sri Puji Utami, Febri Ufaira Hasan, Rama Abirami K.
