One of the efforts that should be made to reduce the incidence of gastric ulcers is a precautionary measure to use ethanol extract of celery (Apium graveolens L). Celery contains phenolic compounds, such as apigenin which acts as an antioxidant. Antioxidant has the potential as an agent of gastric mucosal protection against cell damage caused by excessive activation of free radicals (ROS). Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effect of celery ethanol extract in preventing gastric ulcers through a reduction of ulcer lesion length. Method: Research method Post-test Only Randomized Controlled Group Design conducted on Wistar strain rats. Experimental animals were divided into 5 groups: healthy, normal wound with induction indomethacin, and celery ethanol extract administered orally at a dose of 200 mg/kg, 300, mg/kg, and 400 mg/kg. Observations were made on the length of gastric ulcer lesions. The length of the gastric ulcer was measured using a vernier caliper and statistically analyzed by the One-way ANOVA test. Result: The result showed that the ethanol extract of celery at 300mg/kgBB was the best dose in preventing the formation of gastric ulcer by decreasing the length of the gastric ulcer. Conclusion: Based on these results, the researcher suggests comparing other various parameters regarding the effect of celery ethanol extract for the prevention of gastric ulcers.
2024-01-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Dina Dewi Sartika Lestari Ismail, Heri Kristianto, Sandra Novita Yunianto, Setyoadi Setyoadi https://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/keperawatan/article/view/30676 The effectiveness of the algorithm Stroke Gadjah Mada’s (ASGM) and Guy's Hospital Stroke Score (GHSS) in determining the type of etroke emergency in the emergency room of Dr. H. CT scan is a tool to differentiate the type of stroke, determine the location of the lesion and determine the severity of the disease. However, this tool is expensive and not all areas have it and the procedure takes quite a long time. Nurses need a diagnostic tool in the form of a simple assessment system including the Gadjah Mada Stroke Algorithm (ASGM) and Guy's Hospital Stroke Score (GHSS) which are easy, valid, reliable assessment tools in determining the type of stroke and preventing delays. Objectives: Analyzing the comparison of the ASGM and GHSS scoring systems in determining the type of stroke emergency in the Emergency room. Methods: This research method is quantitative pre-experimental design (posttest only design). The population was all stroke patients in the emergency room with 30 samples and the collection technique was accidental sampling. As for the stages, each respondent undergoes an ASGM assessment which consists of 3 components and GHSS 9 components. The statistical test used is the Paired Sample T-test, then an accuracy test is carried out by looking at the level of sensitivity and specificity. Results: Based on the results of the Paired Sample T-test, the Sig value. amounting to 0.000 <0.05, which means there is a significant difference between the ASGM and GHSS scoring systems in determining the type of emergency in stroke patients. The average difference in the duration of determining the type of emergency and nursing diagnosis in the assessment system and ASGM and GHSS is 7.6 minutes. Furthermore, it also shows lower data of 7,066 and upper data of 8,134. This shows that the duration range for determining the type of emergency using ASGM is around 7.1 – 8.1 minutes faster compared to GHSS. Based on the accuracy test, the ASGM sensitivity level is 86.66% and the specificity level is 96.66%, while the GHSS sensitivity level is 56.66% and the specificity level is 63.33%.This difference is thought to be due to ASGM having more specific assessment variables for the brain, so that detecting suspected types of stroke in the acute phase is more accurate compared to GHSS. Conclusions: The ASGM and GHSS assessment methods are effective in determining the type of emergency in stroke patients in the ERHowever, in terms of duration, determining the type of emergency and.
2024-01-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 M. This causes contamination of skin diseases in the genital area, quality of sleep, and decubitus. Prevention efforts can be provided with non-pharmacological therapy by doing Kegel exercises to stretch the pelvic floor muscles. The mechanism of action strengthens the capacity of the bladder sphincter. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effect of Kegel exercises on urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women in the Banyuwangi Hindu elderly community in 2023. Methods: This research employed a pre-experimental research design with a one-group pre-test post-test research design of 18 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The study's results before the intervention were those who experienced urinary incontinence in the elderly with a minimum value of 13, a median value of 17.50, and a maximum value of 22. After the intervention, those experiencing urinary incontinence had a minimum value of 4, a median value of 7.44, and a maximum value of 12. The findings of this research, analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test with SPSS, yielded a significance value of p = 0.000, which is less than 0.05. This indicates that Kegel Exercise has an impact on Urinary Incontinence in Menopausal Women in the Banyuwangi Hindu Elderly Community in 2023. Conclusions: Kegel exercises contract, increase muscle tone, improve healing by up to 50%, and form a supporting structure for the pelvis, vagina, urethra, and rectum to affect the inability to urinate under control.
2024-01-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Diana Kusumawati, Indah Christiana, Ni Kadek Widhi Candra Dewi https://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/keperawatan/article/view/28985 Differences in maternal role attainment in stunting prevention in rural and urban areas of Jember regency 2023-09-05T14:59:08+07:00 Dwi Indah Lestari dwiindah343@gmail.com Ayesie Natasa Zulka ayesienatasazulka@unmuhjember.ac.id Muhammad Zainullah zainullahzainul29@gamail.com
Introduction: The sociodemographic conditions of Jember Regency can shaped the role attainment of mothers in preventing stunting.
