Efektivitas Pemberian Strengthening Exercise dan Balance Exercise dalam Meningkatkan Lower Limb Strengthening pada Lansia: Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT)

Gangguan keseimbangan mampu mempengaruhi kualitas kedua otot tungkai bawah pada lansia sehingga kemungkinan seseorang akan mengalami resiko jatuh. Penelian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemberian strengthening exercise dan balance exercise dalam meningkatkan kekuatan otot tungkai bawah pada lansia. Metode penelitian menggunakan eksperimental dengan randomized controlled trial (RCT) yang melibatkan pada lansia yang memiliki resiko jatuh. Sampel berjumlah 50 orang yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol. Pengukuran keseimbangan dan kekuatan otot tungkai bawah menggunakan skala berg balance dan skala lower extremity functional. Analisis statik menggunakan Shapiro Wilk, ANOVA, uji Mauchly dan uji-T dependent. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya signifikan (p < 0.05). Sehingga latihan penguatan tungkai bawah apabila diterapkan secara berkepanjangan mampu mengurangi resiko jatuh pada lansia.
