Adolescence is a crucial developmental stage characterized by significant physical and psychological changes, where peer relationships, particularly friendships, play a vital role in shaping identity. Previous research has highlighted the importance of parental attachment in influencing adolescents’ social interactions and their ability to form meaningful friendships. Social competence, which refers to the ability to navigate social situations effectively, is considered a key mediator between parental attachment and the quality of friendships. This research aims to delve into how social competence mediates the relationship between parental attachment and the quality of adolescent friendships. The study uses quantitative methods with a purposive sampling technique to collect data from 166 adolescents, utilizing various scales to measure parental attachment, social competence, and friendship quality. Results indicate that social competence significantly mediates the relationship between parental attachment and the quality of friendships, confirming its critical role in fostering positive peer relationships during adolescence.
2024-12-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Zuhaimi Santari Hayushttps://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/pjsp/article/view/36265- Parenting self-efficacy sebagai moderator dalam hubungan mindful parenting dan stres pengasuhan pada ibu yang memiliki anak usia dini2024-11-30T14:59:21+07:00Nazlah Hasninazlahhasni24@gmail.comIswinartiiswinarti@umm.ac.idMuhamad Salis Yuniardisalis@umm.ac.id
Mothers of young children often experience parenting stress due to physical and emotional demands, lack of experience, and limited personal time. This condition can affect parenting processes and child development during the golden age. To understand how parenting self-efficacy (PSE) can reduce parenting stress through mindful parenting, an analysis was conducted involving 200 mothers with young children. Mindful parenting was measured using the Mindfulness in Parenting Questionnaire (MIPQ), parenting stress with the Parental Stress Scale (PSS), and PSE with the Self-Efficacy for Parenting Tasks Index (SEPTI). The results showed that PSE moderates the relationship between mindful parenting and parenting stress. The interaction coefficient of 0.0084 with a p-value of 0.024 indicates that higher PSE can strengthen the positive effects of mindful parenting in reducing parenting stress.
2024-12-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Nazlah Hasnihttps://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/pjsp/article/view/35654The role of parental child relationship on phubbing is mediated by self-regulation in elementary school students2024-11-30T14:52:24+07:00Wanda Azizahwandazzah18@gmail.com
Nowadays, children from toddlers to teenagers also use and enjoy the various functions offered by smartphones. Children who have been diagnosed with smartphones have difficulty stopping screen time. So many elementary school children often do phubbing. Phubbing is the act of focusing only on the world displayed on your smartphone and ignoring the people around you. The aim of this research is to determine whether there is a role between parent-child relationships and self-regulation in phubbing behavior in elementary school students. This research uses a correlational quantitative method using path analysis and using a non-probability sampling method with a purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this research were 270 active students with the subject criteria being (1) children aged 10 to 13 years who have smartphones, (2) use smartphones for more than 2 hours per day and (3) have applications. The results of the study showed that the relationship between parents and children mediates self-regulation of phubbing on phubbing behavior. This research shows that the parent-child relationship towards phubbing has a strong influence so that with high self-regulation children tend to be less likely to engage in phubbing behavior.
2024-12-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Wanda Azizahhttps://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/pjsp/article/view/36724Self esteem dan nomophobia pada remaja: Peran mediasi loneliness2024-11-30T15:00:05+07:00Sarah Juwitasarah.juwita63@gmail.comIswinartiiswinarti@umm.ac.idDiah Karmiyatidiah@umm.ac.id
Nomophobia is a form of discomfort, stress, or anxiety caused by the absence of a mobile phone or other virtual
communication devices in individuals who frequently use smartphones. Nomophobia can be influenced by several
factors, such as self esteem and loneliness. This study aims to examine the effect of self esteem on nomophobia,
mediated by loneliness, in adolescents. A quantitative research method was employed in this study. The subjects were adolescents aged 13-18 years who are smartphone users, with a sample size of 513 respondents. The instruments used include the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q), The Self-Liking/Self-Competence Scale (SLSC), and the University of California, Los Angeles Loneliness Scale Version 3 (UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3). The analysis technique utilized was mediation analysis using the PROCESS macro by Hayes. The findings of this study indicate that loneliness acts as a mediator in the relationship between self esteem and nomophobia in adolescents, with significance (β = -0.207). It was found that the indirect effect or mediating role accounts for only 29% of the total effect, thus only partially mediating the relationship.
2024-12-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Sarah Juwita
