Abstract

Parents who have children with special needs are more prone to experiencing parenting stress. A child's disability is sometimes a source of stress for parents, especially if the nature of the disorder lasts a long time and lasts a lifetime. The assessment methods used were clinical interviews and parental stress scales. The purpose of this case study is to reduce parenting stress for mothers who have children with special needs through group counseling. The results of the intervention show that reality group counseling can reduce parenting stress experienced by mothers who have children with special needs. Participants determine and fulfill basic needs in dealing with real situations. Group settings help to learn from each other, feel comfortable, and exchange information.

 

Orang tua yang memiliki anak berkebutuhan khusus lebih rentan mengalami stres pengasuhan. Kecacatan anak terkadang menjadi sumber stres bagi orang tua, apalagi jika sifat kelainan tersebut berlangsung lama dan berlangsung seumur hidup. Metode penilaian yang digunakan adalah wawancara klinis dan skala stres orang tua. Tujuan dari studi kasus ini adalah untuk mengurangi stres pengasuhan pada ibu yang memiliki anak berkebutuhan khusus melalui konseling kelompok. Hasil intervensi menunjukkan bahwa konseling kelompok realitas dapat mengurangi stres pengasuhan yang dialami ibu yang memiliki anak berkebutuhan khusus. Peserta menentukan dan memenuhi kebutuhan dasar dalam menghadapi situasi nyata. Pengaturan grup membantu untuk belajar satu sama lain, merasa nyaman, dan bertukar informasi.
