Abstract

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a severe depressive condition characterized by persistent feelings of deep sadness for more than two weeks. This condition significantly reduces the sufferer’s quality of life because it affects thought patterns, moods, and behaviors. This study focuses on a 22-year-old woman with MDD. Comprehensive assessments were conducted through clinical interviews, observations, WAIS Test, projective tests (Draw a Person, BAUM, Human Tree Person), and Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II). Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) was applied as an intervention with the primary goal of changing cognitions or perceptions of problems, as well as modifying maladaptive emotions and behaviors. In line with the hypothesis, CBT intervention can reduce the level of depression in individuals with major depressive disorder.
