Amin Abdullahaminabdullah53@gmail.com
This article examines the Progressive Islamic Manhaj initiated by Muhammadiyah as Indonesia's largest modern Islamic organization. The method or manhaj was formulated by Muhammadiyah as a serious effort to transform Islamic movements and thoughts that are modern and responsive to the development of the times. In its review, this study complements its discussion with theological, philosophical, and ethical perspectives in viewing and providing answers to various contemporary social, political, and religious problems that are increasingly complicated. Moreover, the urgency of the Muhammadiyah Progressive Islamic Manhaj is needed to respond to the invitation to religion in a strict, rigid, narrow, and closed manner carried out by certain groups in the name of religion, both orally, in writing, and creative approaches on social media. This research article uses a descriptive analysis method for various socio-theological problems faced by the Muslim community in Indonesia. Then, this article would like to explain a vital approach initiated by Muhammadiyah, namely the Progressive Islamic Manhaj, by updating the interpretation of the five main principles of maqāṣid sharī‘ah as a solution to contribute to the solution of various socio-religious problems. In the end, this study concludes that it is essential for Muhammadiyah to reform the basic epistemology of Islamic legal thought, especially those related to social life at large, especially with the spread of procedural reasoning religious perspectives or al-‘aql al-ijrā’ī in Fiqh and Kalām and legal-formal religious fatwa reasoning or al-‘aql al-iftā’ī, which seems to close the meetings of the universal values of humanity listed in the Qur'an.
2024-06-22T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Amin Abdullahhttps://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/progresiva/article/view/32778Pancasila Values and Peace Verses as Resilience Against the Religious Extremism: Study on Nahdlatul Ulama and Shi'a2024-05-02T14:14:16+07:00Muh Khamdankhamdanwi@gmail.comWiharyaniwihar2@gmail.comNadiah Abidinna247522@ohio.edu
The article explains the contestation and commodification of ideology in changing patterns of extremist movements in society. Ideological problems are studied using a political sociology approach to describe the relationship between Pancasila values and peaceful verses in Islam with the phenomenon of changing movement patterns of terrorist networks in Indonesia. This paper uses a qualitative method that explains the data descriptively so that the construction of the data is understood as the result of interpretations that have plural dimensions or depend on the analytical point of view. The primary sources for this research are documents related to the themes of Pancasila values and peaceful verses in the Koran and patterns of building immunity against extremism. The data processing process based on some documents was carried out using the content analysis method using the descriptive analysis method. Ideological identity in contestation in Indonesia is only one of the differentiation strategies to win public sympathy. Identity politics, which is often associated with radicalism and fighting between religious groups, is different from what happens in politics in other countries. The phenomenon of the life of the Nahdlatul Ulama and Shi'a community in Jepara, which tends to be peaceful and quick in resolving conflicts based on religious ideology, is at least influenced by awareness of the values of Pancasila as a common consensus.
2024-06-20T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Muh Khamdan, Wiharyani, Nadiah Abidinhttps://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/progresiva/article/view/32147Attitudes and Views of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan to the Transable Ideology: An AIK Learning and Local Wisdom Based Preventive Approach 2024-05-02T14:27:05+07:00Aabidah Ummu 'Azizahaabidah@ikm.uad.ac.idSukiman Sukimansukiman@uin-suka.ac.idSibawaih Sibawaihsibawaihi@uin-suka.ac.idUnik Hanifah Salsabilaunik.salsabila@pai.uad.ac.id
This research explores the views of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) towards transabled individuals and UAD's role in rejecting transabled individuals. Transabled refers to individuals who desire physical disability or engage in self-destructive behavior. This research focuses on the role of Islamic education through Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah (AIK) learning at UAD in forming attitudes towards the transabled. The research method uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews as a data collection technique and Paulo Freire’s critical education theory as a data analysis technique. Research respondents comprised students, lecturers, and administrative staff in the Public Health Sciences (IKM) study program, Faculty of Public Health (FKM) UAD. The research results show that IKM FKM UAD has an active role in rejecting the transabled concept. The role can be seen through the problem-solving approach to AIK learning in the IKM FKM UAD study program, which provides an understanding of physical disabilities within Islamic values and teaches the importance of accepting the body as God's creation with gratitude. Apart from that, AIK learning also builds a gratitude paradigm by creating an environment that utilizes individual well-being for both students who do not have physical limitations and those with disabilities. Local wisdom also plays a role in preventing transability with the values of civility and social righteousness. AIK learning also encourages discussion about ethical considerations surrounding body integrity and self-identity. This perspective allows students to consider the social, psychological, and ethical impacts of changing God’s creation or engaging in intentionally destructive behavior.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Aabidah Ummu 'Azizah, Sukiman Sukiman, Sibawaih Sibawaih, Unik Hanifah Salsabilahttps://ejournal.umm.ac.id/index.php/progresiva/article/view/32486Islamic and Spirituality: Reevaluating Maslow’s Hierarchy for Self-Actualization2024-02-26T16:26:44+07:00Ulfatun Wahidatun Nisaulfatunnisa130@unida.gontor.ac.idAmal Fathullah ZarkasyiAmal.fathullah.amal@gmail.com
This article explores the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs – Self Actualization
also study aims to examine the thoughts brought by Western figures related to Hierarchy of Needs Abraham Maslow in Islamic Perspective which the most idea comes from Al Ghazali’s tought.
