Invaginasi atau Intususepsi (Intussusception) harus segera dikenali gejalanya agar segera bisa mendapatkan penatalaksanaan yang tepat, karena meskipun kejadiannya jarang tetapi merupakan penyebab obstruksi usus yang terbanyak pada bayi dan anak-anak. Jika penanganan tidak adekuat atau terlambat akan mengakibatkan peritonitis yang berakibat fatal. Penyebab utama adalah idiopatik dan kebanyakan diderita oleh bayi sehingga tanda-tanda khas yang mempunyai sensitifitas dan spesifisitas yang tinggi harus diketahui oleh teman sejawat dokter agar tidak menambah angka mortalitas invaginasi. Keputusan pemilihan penanganan apakah melalui reposisi non operatif atau operatif tergantung dari letak intussusseptum, kondisi umum anak dan lama invaginasi yang terjadi.
