PENDEKATAN INTERPRETIF DALAM ILMU-ILMU SOSIAL

Abstract

Interpretive approach used in social sciences (Geisteswissenschaften) because social sciences are the sciences of humans and culture. If we learn humans and culture are better and more acurate if we choose verstehen method not erklaren method, because the radic of life is social life as social catagory (lebenskatagorie). By verstehen method, we can find the meaning for all phenomena related with human life and culture. Interpretive also related with hermeneutic, and social sciences must interpretive and hermeneutic, because human phenomena is different with hard sciences. Learning human phenomena should be historically and ideographic by understanding all of historical events of individual life experiences. In hermeneutic, historical events is as text or analog text . Through understanding symbols we can find the meaning of phenomena, such as understanding language or myth. In interpretive approach, there is no rough fact in social sciences. According to Heidegger, the truth is searched by human interaction with their social world. Interpretive is basic form of human existence, interpretation is not instrument but the human essensial. Now, interpretive approach more popular
than explanative approach but also calls the critique.
