PENGUATAN KETAHANAN PANGAN MELALUI SEKTOR AGROINDUSTRI DI JAWA TIMUR

Abstract

The main objective of this research consisted of three. First was to know backward and forward linkages among agro industry sector, agriculture and non agriculture commodities in East Java. Second was to analyze agro industry type that should be
prioritized in effort to reach food security escalation in East Java Province. The last one was to analyze ago industry type that should be prioritized in the effort to reach Gross Domestic Bruto escalation in East Java Province. Data instrument used to analyze was taken from Input- Output Table in East Java in 2006 and 66 sectors were classified. Based on I-O analysis, the highest result for direct backward Linkage index was industrial kibbling paddy (o.89) and for direct Forward Linkage index was industrial alimentary food (0.65). Agro industry type that should be prioritized based on analysis was alimentary food industries, industrial processing, food preservation, sugar industry and paddy bulling industry. The last agro industry that had big role in Gross Domestic Bruto Escalation was cigarette industrial sector.
