Abstract:
This research aims to determine the implementation of Principal’s policy on learning swimming practice, using a qualitative approach. The results of this research are learning swimming practice in State Junior High School 1 Cerme is less well. It can be seen from the number of students who take swimming lessons approximately 60%. Supporting factors include the support from principal, the competent physical sport education and health teachers, parents. Inhibiting factors are the implementation of time, budget, socialization, and facilities. The impacts on students are enriching the knowledge as well as the experience, children master the basic techniques of walking in water, gliding, breathing, and children master the basic freestyle techniques for class VII and breaststroke for class VIII.

Abstrak:
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi kebijakan Kepala Sekolah tentang pembelajaran praktek renang, menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran praktek renang di SMP Negeri 1 Cerme kurang baik dilihat dari jumlah siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran renang kurang lebih 60%. Faktor penunjang meliputi, adanya dukungan dari kepala sekolah, guru pendidikan jasmani olahraga dan kesehatan yang berkompeten, orang tua, manfaat renang. Faktor kendala, yaitu waktu pelaksanaan, biaya, sosialisasi, serta sarana dan prasarana. Dampak bagi siswa menambah wawasan, menambah pengalaman, anak menguasai teknik dasar berjalan di dalam air, meluncur, pernafasan, anak menguasai teknik dasar gaya bebas bagi kelas VII, dan gaya dada bagi kelas VIII.
