Abstract:
This research objective was to know the application of demonstration method to increase students’ motivation and learning outcomes in learning natural science. This research was conducted to 26 students of Public Junior High school 10 Probolinggo by using descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research data were the observation of students’ interest, teachers’ activity, students’ activity and motivation and natural science learning outcomes. This research was conducted into two cycles, by the indicator of research minimum 20 students had a good motivation and learning mastery reached 85% classically. The research result used demonstration method in learning natural science had been carried out well based on its syntax, namely can increase motivation and outcomes in learning natural science. Learning outcomes in cycle I acquired the percentage of classical learning mastery 68% and increased in cycle II with the percentage of classical mastery reached 85%.

Abstrak:
Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui penerapan metode demonstrasi untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 26 peserta didik SMPN 10 Probolinggo dengan pendekatan kulitatif dan kuantitatif bersifat deskriptif. Data penelitian berupa observasi minat peserta didik, aktivitas guru, aktifitas peserta didik dan motivasi peserta didik dan hasil belajar IPA. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus, dengan indikator penelitian minimal 20 peserta didik memiliki motivasi yang baik dan kentuntasan belajar mencapai 85% secara klasikal. Hasil penelitian penggunaan metode demonstrasi pada pembelajaran IPA sudah berjalan dengan baik sesuai dengan sintaknya yaitu dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar IPA. Hasil belajar pada siklus I, diperoleh persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal 68% dan meningkat pada siklus II persentase ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 85%.
