ABSTRACT
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristic hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormal insulin secretion , insulin action or both. This study uses Pre-Experimental design with one group pretest posttest design, The Subject obtained using a purposive sampling as many as 15 people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Data was collect through interviews and measurements. The data obtained were processed and analyzed descriptively tabulation and Wilcoxon test statistics. Data was write through interviews and measurements. The data obtained were processed and analyzed descriptively tabulation and Wilcoxon test statistics. Showed respondents with leg exercise before normal ABI 7 (46.7%), while after doing diabetes leg exercises respondents with normal ABI increased by 11 (73.3%). Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a significant results between the ankle brachial index (ABI) of the respondents before and after diabetes leg exercises p value = 0.046. The Suggestions for further research to see the effect of diabetes leg exercises to the ankle brachial index (ABI) using Doppler ultrasound.
