ABSTRAK
Perubahan fisik dan psikososial mengakibatkan perubahan sosial pada lansia dimana kaum manula tidak dihormati atau tidak disegani tetapi hanya ditolerin sehingga mengakibatkan perubahan pada konsep dirinya terutama pada peran sosial lansia dimasyarakat. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain penelitian korelasional. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah semua lansia yang berusia 60-75 tahun. Dengan variabel independen adalah peran sosial dan variabel dependen adalah konsep diri. Analisa data yang digunakan adalah dengan uji chi-square dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa dengan perhitungan chi square diperoleh hasil X2 hitung (18,14) sedangkan X2 tabel (5,991) dapat disimpulkan bahwa X2 hitung > X2 tabel ini berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima artinya ada hubungan antara peran sosial dengan konsep diri pada lansia. Adanya hubungan antara peran sosial dengan konsep diri pada lansia maka lansia selain harus selalu memerhatikan kondisi atau kesehatan mereka juga harus memahami diri sendiri dan orang lain. Dalam kehidupan lansia agar dapat tetap menjaga kondisi fisik yang sehat, maka perlu menyelaraskan kebutuhan-kebutuhan fisik dengan kondisi psikologik maupun sosial, sehingga mau tidak mau harus ada usaha untuk mengurangi kegiatan yang bersifat memforsir fisiknya. Seorang lansia harus mampu mengatur cara hidupnya dengan baik, misalnya makan, tidur, istirahat dan bekerja secara seimbang.

ABSTRACT
Physical change and psychosocial cause social change in advance age where is class of advance age is not respected or not well-thought-of but only have tolerant so that cause change in self concept especially in social character of advance age in society. Design that used in this research is research design of correlation. Sample in this research is all advance age of 60-75 years old. With independent variable is social character and dependent variable of self concept. Data analysis that used is chi-square test with standard significance 0,05. Research that found is show that calculation with chi square get result X2 count (18,14) while X2 table (5,991) inferential that X2 count > X2 tabel2 this table means is Ho is averse and HI accepted its mean there is connection between social character with self concept in advance age. The connection that existence between social character with self concept in advance ages so they must always pay attention to their condition or their health also must realize own self and another person. In advance ages life so that can permanent watch over physical condition that wells, so necessary harmonization physical needs with psychological condition also social, so they must have an effort to decrease activity that force their physical. An advance age must can regulate the life manner well, for example eats, sleep, rest and work according to balance.
