Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

JOURNAL DESCRIPTION

JURNAL MIZANIYAH (JM) is a peer-reviewed journal published two times a year (June and December) by Pusat Pengkajian Ekonomi dan Keuangan Syariah (PPEKS), Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Mizaniyah is focused on the research (Empirical Study) or conceptual articles in economic science which consists of: Islamic Economics, sharia banking and sharia finance.

The main criterion for publication in a journal is the importance of contributions and articles made for the literature in the development of Islamic economics, that is, the importance of contribution and accuracy in the analysis and presentation of papers. Each paper submitted was reviewed independently by at least two peer reviewers. Decisions for publication, amendments or rejection are based on their reports / recommendations and are made by the Editor. If two or more reviewers consider texts that are not suitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis of the decision will be sent to the author within two weeks to four weeks.

AUDIENCE

The primary, but not exclusive, audience is academicians, postgraduate students, econom practitioners, and other people interested in economic development research.

AUTHOR FEE

Jurnal Mizaniyah will not charge anything to the author for a submission fee or publication fee. Once the issue is published, the author will get an issue by email and/or the postal system.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS and EDITORIAL DECISION

All submitted manuscripts are read by the editorial staff. Those manuscripts evaluated by the editors to be inappropriate to the journal’s criteria are rejected promptly without any external review. Manuscripts evaluated to be of potential interest to our readership are sent to double-blind reviewers. The editors then make a decision based on the reviewer’s recommendation, from among several possibilities: Rejected, requires major revision, needs minor revision, or accepted.

The editor-in-chief of the Jurnal Mizaniyah (JM) has the right to decide which manuscripts submitted to the journal should be published.
