About the Journal

The Journal of Global-Local Interactions (GLI) Online ISSN 2620-3812 is a publication by the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. The journal's aim is to facilitate discussion, sharing, and debate on relevant topics in the fields of Contemporary Global Security, Foreign Policy Analysis, Geopolitics of Globalization, Global Contemporary Issues, Global Political Economic, International-Domestic (Intermestic) Studies, Network Society, and Paradiplomacy. The journal invites submissions from researchers in the fields of political and social sciences who have a research focus on those issues. 

The journal will publish papers on the issues biannually, primarily in June and December. The Department of International Relations in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia, and Asosiasi Ilmu Hubungan Internasional Indonesia (AIHII) collaborate to publish GLI. A manuscript submitted to the Editorial Board for consideration must be an authentic and unpublished piece of work, with no current consideration for publication elsewhere.

Global Local Interactions: Journal of International Relations is a multi-disciplinary journal published twice a year (June and December) by the Department of International Relations, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. It aims to provide theoritical as well as policy relevant researches in various fields of study such as political science, international relations, economics, development studies, cultural studies, and security studies. 

The Global Local Interactions is a journal of international relations by nature, yet it more focuses on the impact of globalization in shaping global-local interactions among various actors within global society.

Our main topics include but not limited to:

  1. Contemporary Global Security
  2. Geopolitics of Globalization
  3. Global Contemporary Issue
  4. Transnational Network
  5. Global Political Economic
  6. Local Government in a Globalized World (Paradiplomacy)
  7. Foreign Policy Analysis

GLI invites scholars, researchers, policymakers, and students to share insights in various topics mentioned above.
