Journal of Tropical Crop Science and Technology

Welcome to the Journal of Tropical Crop Science and Technology. Our mission is to advance the scientific understanding and technological innovations related to tropical crops. We are dedicated to publishing high-quality, impactful research that contributes meaningfully to the field.

Scope and Focus

We welcome manuscripts that present significant advances in tropical crop science and technology. However, please note that our journal is not the appropriate venue for certain types of studies. Specifically, we do not consider:

  1. Preliminary observations or studies of limited scope and interest.
  2. Research that merely confirms findings from other plant systems without presenting new insights.
  3. Work that is addressed solely to a specialized readership without broader relevance.

Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts that focus on the following topics will be returned without formal review:

  1. Preliminary Studies: Research that is of preliminary nature or limited in scope.
  2. Confirmatory Studies: Studies that merely confirm results previously achieved in other plant systems.
  3. Gene Sequence Cloning and Expression:Manuscripts describing the cloning, sequencing, and expression patterns of gene sequences already characterized in other plant species.
  4. Protein Expression: Studies describing the expression of a protein without thorough characterization of both the recombinant product and its native form.
  5. Enzyme Analysis:Research on the isolation, purification, and characterization of enzymes extensively studied in other plants.
  6. Molecular Markers and Genetic Diversity: Descriptions of molecular markers and plant genetic diversity lacking relevant biological information.

We strive to ensure that the research we publish is of high impact and relevance to the broader scientific community. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Journal of Tropical Crop Science and Technology is not a publication vehicle for preliminary observations, for studies that are merely confirmatory of results accomplished in other plant systems, or  that  are  addressed  only  to  a specialized  readership.  Submitted  manuscripts describing studies of preliminary nature, that are merely confirmatory in scope or of limited scope and interest to the general readership of the journal will be returned without formal review. As a general policy, the journal will no longer consider manuscripts just describing the cloning, sequencing and expression patterns of gene sequences that have been identified and characterized in other plant species, expression of a protein without proper characterization of the recombinant product and native form, the isolation, purification and characterization of enzymes extensively analyzed in other plants, description of molecular markers and plant genetic diversity without any relevant biological information, cell culture and/or transformation of plant species (or closely related species) already established in the literature and basic transcriptomic approaches with no further relevant functional characterization of genes of interest.

Publication Frequency

The JTCST published twice a year. For Number 1 and 2 every year are published in Maret and october.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

All articles published Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We are continuously working with our author communities to select the best choice of license:
