Faktor-Faktor Berhentinya Kerja Sama Antara Pemerintah Indonesia dengan World Wildlife Fund

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang melandasi sikap pemerintah Indonesia dalam menghentikan kerjasamanya dengan yayasan World Wildlife Funds (WWF) Indonesia pada tahun 2020. Organisasi masyarakat sipil dalam bentuk non-government organisation (NGO) sering diposisikan menjadi salah satu penggerak dalam demokrasi. Namun pemerintahan Indonesia melalui Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) justru menunjukkan hal sebalikknya dengan memutus kerjasamanya terhadap WWF pada tahun 2020. KLHK secara tidak langsung telah membatasi ruang gerak WWF yang juga merupakan bagian dari organisasi masyarakat sipil yang aktif menyuarakan suara-suara perlindungan terhadap lingkungan. Dengan menggunakan konsep state building dari Francis Fukuyama dan new developmentalism dari Eve Warburton penulis menemukan korelasi paradigma ekonomi-politik baru Indonesia dibawah pemerintahan Joko Widodo yang menunjukkan langkah mempriotaskan pembangunan ekonomi dengan mengorbankan penegakkan hukum atau hak asasi manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa studi pustaka. Dalam artikel ini penulis meyakini bahwa pemerintah Indonesia dalam sikapnya menghentikan kerjasamanya dengan WWF dapat dimaknai sebagai kesalahan dalam mengartikan makna penguatan peran negara dengan mengabaikan nilai-nilai demokrasi demi legitimasi pembangunan ekonomi seperti yang dilakukan dengan rezim pemerintahan Orde Baru.
