Focus and Scope
Uumuddin is the Journal of Islamic Legal Studies that has covered the contemporary issues of Islamic legal thought, primarily new and popular notions and practices of Islamic law. It does not covering only issues of fiqh (legal cases), but also philosophies of Islamic law or legal theories, development of maqasid, elaborations between ideas of Islamic law and modern social sciences, and specific issues of practical implementations of Islamic law and their complexities in Indonesia and other Muslim regions. Accordingly, the journal has invited scholars with specialisation in Islamic legal studies but also in various disciplines of social sciences and humanities.
