Gender dysphoria triggers discomfort and incongruence between gender identity and biological sex, affecting one's gender expression through fashion, with the potential to be a source of pride and creative expression in society, but also causing ongoing frustration, physical discomfort, and anxiety. This study examines the transformation of gender dysphoria into a fashion collection theme using the semantic differential method. The research employs an explanatory approach combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Data is collected through literature review, expert interviews, and surveys targeting respondents with knowledge of gender and an interest in fashion. Fashion design relies on a moodboard with keywords related to gender dysphoria as the main guide, ensuring accurate representation according to respondent perceptions. The semantic differential method is utilized to measure and transform gender dysphoria-related ideas into representative fashion designs through evaluation and statistical analysis of respondent assessments. The study demonstrates that fashion design based on societal perceptions of gender dysphoria characteristics can be achieved using the semantic differential method to measure such perceptions and depict design elements that reflect the characteristics of individuals with gender dysphoria. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the creation of fashion designs that visually communicate the experience of gender dysphoria and promote inclusivity and support for gender diversity in the fashion industry.
