BODY DISSATISFACTION TERHADAP PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL BEING PADA KARYAWATI

Psychological well being merupakan suatu keadaan individu yang mampu menerima diri apa adanya sehingga didapat kesejahteraan dalam hidup. Psychological well being pada karyawati dapat dipengaruhi oleh body dissatisfaction. Body dissatisfaction disini lebih pada aspek distress yang disebabkan oleh berat badan dan bentuk tubuh sehingga malu untuk tampil di depan umum. Salah satu faktor yang dapat memunculkan body dissatisfaction merupakan ketidakpuasan yang mendalam terhadap diri sendiri dan kehidupan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara body dissatisfaction (yang diukur dengan body shape questionnaire) dan psychological well being pada karyawati (yang diukur dengan psychological well being scale). Pengukuran ini dilakukan pada 140 sampel dengan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh (total sampling) pada karyawati yang bekerja di Asuransi Bumi Putra cabang Tulungagung dan Trenggalek. Hasil analisis korelasional menunjukkan bahwa adanya nilai hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara kedua variabel ini. Hasil r -.248 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,003 < 0,05.
