GAMBARAN PENERAPAN THERAPEUTIC ASSESSMENT DALAM PENANGANAN SUBJEK DENGAN SOCIAL ANXIETY AND PHOBIA

Anak dengan social anxiety and phobia memiliki keterampilan sosial, penyesuaian diri, dan manajemen emosi yang kurang. Untuk mengatasi kondisi tersebut dibutuhkan terapi yang dapat menurunkan kecemasan dan rasa takut. Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan gambaran therapeutic assessment dengan menggunakan teknik papan catur dan teknik palm safety net. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dengan satu orang subjek penelitian berusia 6 tahun yang memiliki social anxiety and phobia. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa teknik papan catur tidak dimainkan seperti permainan pada umumnya namun papan catur dan pion menjadi refleksi atas kondisi subjek. Subjek dan peneliti menggerakkan pion seraya peneliti memberikan penguatan psikologis kepada subjek. Teknik palm safety net diberikan untuk mengurangi kecemasan. Subjek diminta untuk mencetak tangannya dan mengidentifikasi lima aktivitas atau benda yang menyenangkan. Dalam proses mengerjakan karya subjek sekaligus diberikankonseling dan penguatan mengenai cara-cara mengurangi kecemasan ketika menghadapi situasi baru.
