Kontroversi Representasi Geopolitik dalam Drama Korea Selatan ‘Snowdrop’

Abstract

Drama Korea ‘Snowdrop’ memicu kontroversi karena dianggap mendistorsi sejarah gerakan demokratisasi Korea Selatan yang terjadi pada tahun 1987. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai validitas tuduhan tersebut dan menganalisis representasi geopolitik yang muncul di dalam film tersebut. Tulisan ini mengkaji perdebatan yang terjadi dalam media daring mengenai tuduhan atas distorsi sejarah dengan melakukan analisis terhadap film melalui metode analisis komposisi dan analisis dokumen untuk melihat apakah tuduhan tersebut terbukti. Meskipun ‘Snowdrop’ memang mengandung unsur-unsur geopolitik, perbandingan antara unsur-unsur ini dan tuduhan-tuduhan yang terlampir menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada distorsi yang disengaja terhadap peristiwa-peristiwa sejarah. Premis dan garis waktu film ini sejalan dengan pemilu Korea Selatan tahun 1987, yang menampilkan kesamaan dalam identitas politik—seperti pemerintahan otoriter, badan intelijen kaki tangan (ANSP), dan Korea Utara sebagai musuh. Namun, intrik politik spesifik yang digambarkan adalah fiksi untuk mendapatkan efek dramatis. Khususnya, gerakan demokratisasi masih menjadi latar belakang, dengan adegan-adegan pendukung yang memperkuat konteks sejarah film tersebut.
